Friday update: Beasley is officially out against the Dolphins.
Thursday update: Beasley hasn’t practiced yet this week and would appear to be unlikely to play in a game that doesn’t have a lot of meaning for their playoff prospects.
The Buffalo Bills can claim the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff bracket in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins, but they may have to do so without wide receiver Cole Beasley. He injured his foot on Monday Night Football after catching three passes for 17 yards. On Tuesday, head coach Sean McDermott described Beasley as week-to-week with the injury, per Chris Brown.
The Bills are already without John Brown after placing him on the COVID-19 injured reserve list. Gabriel Davis and Isaiah McKenzie would get a bump up the depth chart behind Stefon Diggs. However, tight end Dawson Knox would probably be the pass catcher who benefits most if Beasley and Brown both remain sidelined this Sunday.
It’s also worth noting, the Bills might decide to rest starters, or at least not play them the whole game. The Bills can clinch the No. 2 seed with a win or a Pittsburgh Steelers loss to the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers have already announced plans to sit Ben Roethlisberger, so the Bills very well might follow suit.
