The West Virginia Mountaineers will face the Army Black Knights in the 2020 Liberty Bowl on Thursday, December 31. The game will take place at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee.
West Virginia had a pedestrian 5-4 season in the Big 12, with no truly impressive wins or unexpected losses. They lost to Iowa State 42-6 to end the regular season.
Army was about to be left home after the Independence Bowl was canceled, but fortunately they were able to replace Tennessee, who isn’t competing after a bout of Covid-19. The Black Knights finished 2020 at 9-2, and are very deserving of a postseason bid after winning the Commander-in-Chief’s trophy.
