Thursday update: Allen was already likely out with his hamstring injury, but now he is also out due to being placed on the COVID-19 list, per Field Yates.
The Los Angeles Chargers will likely rest Keenan Allen in the season finale against the Chiefs, per Fernando Ramirez. Allen has been a work horse in his career, but this latest hamstring injury pushed him out of last week’s game and will keep him out this week as well.
Receivers Mike Williams, Jalen Guyton and Tyron Johnson will see the bulk of the targets from sensational rookie Justin Herbert to finish out the season in Kansas City. The Chiefs will likely rest starters in a game where they have nothing to play for.
Allen will finish the season with 100 receptions for 992 yards and eight touchdowns. He will dip below 1,000 yards for the first time in four seasons, but this was still a strong season for the veteran receiver. He should be in line for an even better 2021 with Herbert in his second season and the no-doubt starter from day one.
