Kenny Golladay won’t play in Week 17

The Lions WR1 will miss the season finale

In news that will surprise nobody, Detroit Lions wide receiver won’t play this Sunday, per Tim Twentyman. Golladay has been dealing with a hip injury since Week 8. He will end his fourth season as a pro with 20 receptions for 338 yards and two touchdowns in five games played.

This was a contract year for Golladay, so he didn’t get the stats he’d like going into the off season, but after back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons, teams will still be in on acquiring him. The Lions will have a new coach and could be looking to rebuild, which means not shelling out the money Golladay likely will get on the open market. There’s a good chance the team goes after a wide receiver in the draft, but they do have plenty of holes to fill.

This week against the Vikings, who are also out of playoff contention, we will again see Marvin Jones as the No. 1 receiver. Unfortunately, we could also see Chase Daniel with Matthew Stafford hurting.
