In a light heavyweight battle on the main card of UFC Fight Night, Ovince Saint Preux will fight Jamahal Hill Saturday in Las Vegas and available on ESPN+.
The 37-year-old Saint Preux walks to the octagon with a professional fighting record of 25-14, and ranked 15th in the UFC light heavyweight rankings. This is his third fight in 2020, with the most recent bout taking place in September. At UFC Fight Night 176, “OSP” defeated Alonzo Menifield in Round 2 by knockout using punches.
Before that fight St. Preux lost to Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 171 in May via split decision. The southpaw lands 2.64 strikes per minute with 46 percent accuracy, and absorbs 2.88 strikes per minute at 45 percent. As for grappling, the Haitian-American has a 1.23 takedown average per 15 minutes and 40 percent takedown accuracy.
Hill comes to UFC APEX with an undefeated professional fighting record of 7-0 (1 NC). The 29-year-old from Michigan last fought in May at UFC on ESPN 9. Hill defeated him in Round 1 with a devastating knee to the face, but it was overturned for testing positive for marijuana by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
In his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 166 in January, the 6-foot-4 fighter defeated Darko Stosic by unanimous decision. “Sweet Dreams” Hill is a better striker than his opponents, according to the stats. Thus far he lands 7.9 strikes per minute, with an accuracy of 52 percent. The 29-year-old also absorbs fewer strikes than St. Preux at 2.81 and defends them at 48 percent.
