The Miami Dolphins will be short-handed at running back this weekend, as Matt Brieda has been placed on the Covid-19 list, per ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe. Breida missed practice on Friday due to an illness.

Breida will join Salvon Ahmed and DeAndre Washington as non-participants this week. That leaves the Dolphins with Patrick Laird as the only healthy back on the active roster. The possible good news is that Myles Gaskin is close to returning from injured reserve. Wolfe says that Gaskins is trending toward playing this week and with the dearth of running backs, they will likely activate him if he is healthy.

With a matchup against the Bengals, Gaskin would quickly become a good start in fantasy. If he can’t go and it is just Laird, he would have some value, but practice squad backs would likely come in and get some work as well. But still, Laird would be in the flex conversation.
