The 5-1 Tulsa Golden Hurricane will get back on the field this week after having a week off when they travel to Annapolis to take on the 3-5 Navy Midshipmen.
Tulsa is a very strange team. They haven’t lost since a week 1 defeat at Oklahoma State, but every week it seems like they’re on the verge of blowing it. Each of the Golden Hurricane’s last three games were decided by one possession and a combined 14 points. The team is built on its elite defense, which is giving up just 22 points per game and is one of the best at keeping the ground game bottled up. That will be huge against a Midshipmen team that needs to stay on schedule in its triple option attack. Getting Navy in a 2nd & 12 situation makes them less likely than a normal team to continue a drive, even in a good year. Though this season has been anything but good for them. The normal rushing powerhouse is ranked 97th in rush efficiency and has thrown the ball noticeably more than in recent seasons. Still, Ken Niumatalolo’s team has been held to 7 or fewer points three times this year.
Tulsa’s offense is nothing to write home about, but it could find success this weekend. They use a RB by committee, led by Corey Taylor II, T.K. Wilkerson and Deneric Prince. The three headed monster should have a field day against a Navy D that gives up over 220 yards per game on the ground.

The Best Bet
This game looks like it would be highly favorable to bet on Tulsa to cover. Navy has been suspect all around and the Golden Hurricane have found a groove. Still, no matter what the matchups look like this season, the team from Oklahoma can never seem to win by a big margin. A two or more score win has only happened once this season for the boys in blue and gold.
Pick: Navy +12
