After erasing a large halftime deficit to knock off Utah last week, the Washington Huskies return to Seattle on Saturday to play host to a Stanford Cardinal team that is riding high from a rivalry victory of their own.
Two Dylan Morris interceptions and a missed field goal was the story of the Huskies’ disastrous first half against the Utes last Saturday as they entered the half trailing 21-0. UW and their 12th ranked defense per SP+ flipped the game on its ear in the second half, forcing three turnovers and shutting out the Utah defense in the second half. That gave Morris and the Washington offense enough cover to power back for a 24-21 win.
Meanwhile in the Bay Area, Stanford emerged victorious over arch-rival Cal 24-23 to take back the Axe, and special teams played a huge role in securing the Cardinal their first victory of the season.
A muffed punt by Cal led to a Stanford touchdown drive in the second quarter and a blocked field goal prevented the Bears from taking the lead right before the half. After scoring a touchdown to pull to within one with less than a minute left, Cal’s hopes of sending the game to overtime were dashed when Thomas Booker blocked the ensuing PAT.

The Best Bet
The Stanford defense has been on the heels so far in 2020, falling behind as a bottom 10 team in all defensive success rate metrics.
With that in mind, expect both teams to try to push the pace here. 50 should be a reasonable get.
Pick: Over 49
