Game day update: Tyreek Hill had a video game performance last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No one could stop him from doing what he wanted to do, except Patrick Mahomes when he didn’t throw it to him. Hill is once again a weekly must-start against a Broncos’ defense that is allowing 20.5 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Mecole Hardman, however, is a guy who you should keep on the bench, with targets going to Hill, Kelce and the running backs. ESPN projects Hill and Hardman to score 14.5 and 4.1 fantasy points, respectively.
If you had Tyreek Hill in your starting fantasy football lineup last week, congratulations. His eye popping stats against the Buccaneers were likely enough to push you over the top for a win, just like he did for the Chiefs. Can Hill or his teammate Mecole Hardman be a fantasy asset again this week when they face the Broncos?
Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman
Hill had 269 yards and three touchdowns last week, catching 13 of 15 targets from Patrick Mahomes. That was his third game in a row with more than 100 yards. More impressively, he scored six times in his last three games, giving him a total of 13 receiving touchdowns on the season.
With Hill and Mahomes on a mind meld, there are fewer targets for Hardman. He caught three passes on five targets last week for 23 yards. The week before, he had just one catch. However, the last time the Chiefs played the Broncos, he did have 57 yards on two catches.
Hill was targeted 10 times the last time these two teams met, back in Week 7, and he caught six passes for 55 yards and a touchdown. That was the beginning of his current hot streak. He’s a WR1 this week and every week, regardless of who the Chiefs face.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Tyreek Hill. Sit Mecole Hardman.
