Josh Allen didn’t have a disaster of a performance in Week 12, but it can certainly be filed in the disappointing category. Allen only threw for 157 yards on the day and gave up an interception and a fumble. His fantasy day was saved by one passing and one rushing touchdown, but he underperformed expectations and left fantasy owners wanting more. Can he redeem himself in Week 13 against a much tougher San Francisco defense? We break down the fantasy analysis below.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bills QB Josh Allen
Josh Allen is the 5th ranked fantasy quarterback this season, averaging 23.5 points per game. The 49ers are a tough defense to face off against, as they have allowed the 10th fewest points to opposing fantasy quarterbacks this season. This defense is not impenetrable, as they have allowed 30+ point performances to Russel Wilson and Aaron Rodgers recently. They have also stifled the likes of Jared Goff and Cam Newton. They have allowed only 17 passing touchdowns and forfeited only two rushing touchdowns to opposing QBs. Josh Allen gets a lot of work done on the ground and he may not be as successful as he’s become accustomed to being this weekend. Despite the tougher matchup, Allen provides too much upside as he has been getting it done both through the air and on the ground all season, averaging over 275 passing yards/game and accumulating 22 passing TDs and six rushing TDs. He will look to dust himself off after Week 12 and get back on track in Week 13. He should continue to be inserted in lineups as a QB1, with slightly lowered expectations.
