The Atlanta Falcons might be without Julio Jones when they play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon in Week 13. The All-Pro wide receiver is currently listed as questionable with a hamstring injury that he coincidentally injured in Week 11 versus the Saints.
Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons WRs Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Russell Gage
If Julio Jones plays on Sunday that opens up a world of opportunities for the rest of the Falcons’ offense. It means Calvin Ridley will not be followed around by Marshon Lattimore and could open up some opportunities in the slot for Russell Gage.
The last time we saw Jones play in a full game, he had five receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos in Week 9. Then in the previous week, the All-Pro wide receiver torched the Panthers’ secondary for seven receptions for 137 yards.
But if he cannot play on Sunday, it means that Ridley will be vaulted back into the WR1 spot for Atlanta and a firm WR2 in fantasy football. Last week against the Raiders, Ridley had six receptions (nine targets) for 50 yards and a touchdown. In his last three games, the former Bama wideout has 14 receptions (22 targets) for 182 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start — Julio Jones (if healthy), Calvin Ridley
Sit — Russell Gage
