It’s always great when you get an unexpected boost from your kicker in fantasy football and we have our eyes on a couple players who could put a solid numbers of balls through the uprights in Week 13. There are also some kickers you probably want to stay away from. Here’s who we think is worth keeping an eye on.
Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Atlanta Falcons’ Younghoe Koo is the only kicker with more fantasy points than Sanders this year. Sanders has made the second-most field goals (26) in the NFL and has only missed once this season. Miami is favored by 11.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook so there’s a good chance he’ll get get quite a few shots to boot the pigskin through the uprights.
Daniel Carlson, Las Vegas Raiders vs. New York Jets
Carlson has been consistent all year and ranks third in points per game (9.8) among kickers. The Jets are giving up 29.3 points per game and the Raiders are favored by 8.5 points. Las Vegas scored more than 30 points in three straight games before busting against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12 but can get back on track against another weak opponent.
Matt Prater, Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears
Prater is among the league leaders in field goal attempts (25) but has missed seven this season. The Bears’ well-rounded defense won’t give him a ton of chip shots at Soldier Field, so I expect Prater’s accuracy problems to continue. He’s failed to make a field goal in four of his 11 appearances.
Dan Bailey, Minnesota Vikings vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Minnesota’s red zone efficiency has hurt Bailey’s fantasy upside. He’s only attempted 12 field goals this year. He’s made 10 of his attempts but his lack of volume isn’t desirable for any fantasy format.
