Houston’s top two tight ends were absent from the box score last week, both coming away from a win over the Lions without a single catch to show. However, things could really change starting this week with the Texans’ suddenly hurting for pass catchers thanks to injuries and a key suspension.
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans TEs Darren Fells, Jordan Akins
Akins has been a decent fantasy option at various points this season. Despite getting blanked last week, he had 83 yards on five catches the week before that. But without Will Fuller and Randall Cobb, the Texans will have to lean on their tight ends more down the stretch, and that gives Akins some upside in fantasy.
Fells is a harder sell, even with the depth chart issues. He hasn’t topped 50 yards since Week 6, and has just five catches in his last four games. He might get some looks as a red zone option now, but that’s a tough gamble to make in fantasy.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Jordan Akins. Sit Darren Fells.
