New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers with an abdomen injury, but fantasy owners can assume he will be a part of the action in Week 13.
Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots QB Cam Newton
Newton did not play well in his last time out, which was coming off a 365-passing yard performance. In a 20-17 home win over the Arizona Cardinals last weekend, Newton completed 9 of 18 passes for 84 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. On the ground, he rushed for 46 yards on nine carries.
Newton was limited in practice throughout the week, but he said himself he is as feeling as good as he should be feeling.
Newton and the Patriots will see the Chargers on Sunday afternoon on the road. Los Angeles checks in at No. 10 in the NFL, allowing 222.5 passing yards per game. In the Chargers’ last time out, Buffalo Bills quarterback completed 18 of 24 passes for 157 yards with a touchdown, an interception and a fumble.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Newton is a high-end quarterback No. 2 in standard fantasy football leagues going into his Week 13 matchup with the Chargers, though he always has potential for a boom or bust performance.
