With George Kittle still out of action, Jordan Reed sits alone atop the San Francisco 49ers depth chart at the tight end spot. As far as his weekly fantasy football value goes, that’s more of mixed bag, and there are a couple other factors complicating the outlook for Week 13 when the Niners take on the Bills.
Fantasy Football analysis: 49ers TE Jordan Reed
For the second game in a row, Reed has seen six targets. However, last week against the Rams he only hauled in two of those looks for just 18 yards. The game before that, he caught five of six targets for a respectable 62 yards.
The Bills haven’t allowed a tight end to score since Week 6, but they have allowed two players at the position to break 60 yards over the last three games. What really clouds the picture for Reed’s outlook is that the Niners will have both Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel on the field this week. Just how many targets will be left for Reed with their top two wide receivers back in action remains to be seen.
There’s probably enough work to make Reed a decent TE2 option. There aren’t many alternatives at the position anyway.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Jordan Reed.
