The Philadelphia Eagles will have tight end Zach Ertz back in action this week for the first time since Week 6. He has been on injured reserve dealing with an ankle injury during that time. The team activated him ahead of this week’s game against the Packers. Philly’s tight ends are one of the few viable fantasy football options on the team’s roster, getting most of the targets from struggling quarterback Carson Wentz. They’ll be looking to get Ertz back on into the mix this week too.
Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles TE Zach Ertz
Last week, Wentz targeted tight ends Dallas Goedert and Richard Rodgers a total of 16 times, more looks than their top three receivers got. Those two combined for 128 yards and two touchdowns, one each.
Ertz will most likely push Rodgers down to the third spot on the depth chart. That gives him some upside in fantasy this week, though Goedert is still the better play of the two. Given how hard it is to find good help at the tight end spot in fantasy this year, Ertz isn’t the worst you could do as a TE2 this week.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Zach Ertz.
