With Pro Bowl wide receiver Kenny Golladay out again because of a hip injury, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will be depending on veteran wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. and Danny Amendola to make some plays on Sunday afternoon.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions WRs Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola
Last week, Jones was Detroit’s third leading receiver behind tight end T.J. Hockenson and running back Kerryon Johnson in their 16-point loss. The veteran wide receiver had a healthy six receptions (12 targets) for 48 yards. Over the last few weeks, Jones has been averaging 9.3 targets per game, which is good, considering there is no Kenny Golladay.
Amendola did not play last week as he was out with a hip injury, but should be ready to play against the Bears. The last time we saw him play in Week 10, Amendola only had three receptions for 10 yards.
However, the week prior against the suspect Vikings’ pass defense, the 35-year-old wide receiver had seven receptions (10 targets) for 77 yards. This Sunday, Jones and Amendola will be facing a Bears’ defense that is stingy against opposing wide receivers. Through 12 weeks, Chicago is only giving up 17.6 fantasy points per game to receivers. Last week, the Bears defense struggled with Davante Adams and Co., but its hard to see them doing it again on Sunday.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start — Jones as a WR3/WR4 (deeper leagues)
Sit — Amendola
