The Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Clyde-Edwards Helaire did not see the field in the first half against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. Coach Andy Reid said he expected Edwards-Helaire to play, but after two missed practices with illness, it appears the illness and lack of practice moved Le’Veon Bell into the starting job.
Edwards-Helaire is officially active, but appears to just be there for an emergency. Bell has nine carries for 40 yards and two receptions for 15 yards as the Chiefs try to hold onto a slim two-point lead in the third quarter.
