Friday update: McCaffrey is officially doubtful, making him extremely unlikely to suit up against the Broncos.
Thursday PM update: Coach Matt Rhule says that he doesn’t expect McCaffrey to play in Week 14, per Joe Person. It looks like we will get another week of Mike Davis as the starting back, as they take on the Denver Broncos.
Thursday AM update: The Panthers started practice late Thursday morning and Christian McCaffrey was not seen in attendance, per Joe Person. He was limited on Wednesday, so a DNP would be a downgrade.
Wednesday update: Christian McCaffrey was at practice on Wednesday to start Week 14, but he was limited due to shoulder and thigh injuries, per Joe Person. McCaffrey was on the injury report coming into the week due to a shoulder injury but suffered a thigh injury last week. Head coach Matt Rhule referred to it as a “tweak.”
Coach Matt Rhule is hopeful Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey could return for Week 14, per Joe Person. The star back has missed nine games this season due to ankle and shoulder issues. But with the Denver Broncos up next, it appears McCaffrey has a good chance of returning.
McCaffrey was fantasy football’s overall number one pick in 2020 and for good reason. His workload and production over the last couple seasons has been above and beyond the rest of the field, but those who picked him first this season felt the pain of the randomness of injuries.
When on the field McCaffrey has very much been his old self, as he’s averaged 25.4 touches for 124.7 yards and two touchdowns per game! That’s six touchdowns through three games and he even left early due to injury in one of those.
If your fantasy team somehow persisted without McCaffrey, you should get a nice boost in the fantasy playoffs with CMC coming back to shore up the troops.
