Why I like the Washington ATS on MNF vs. Steelers

Washington enters Week 13 as an underdog but could cover the spread against the undefeated Steelers on Monday.

The Washington Football Team has a chance to take control of the NFC East and will travel to Heinz field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Week 13 Monday evening football matchup. The game is set to kick off at 5:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FOX.

Washington blew out the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving thanks to the spectacular play of rookie running back Antonio Gibson. They’re +265 on the moneyline against the undefeated Steelers, who just edged out the depleted Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. I think Washington has a chance to cover the spread on the road despite a tough matchup against one of the best teams in the NFL.

ATS Pick: Washington

Washington is a 7-point underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook and hasn’t lost by a touchdown or more since falling to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5. The Football Team was beaten by 10 or more points in each of its first five games but has since buckled down on defense. Washington has given up the seventh-fewest points per game in the NFL. Washington’s offense hasn’t been super dependable all year but they have the tools to challenge the Steelers in a low-scoring game.

Washington’s receiving corps is extremely limited but Terry McLaurin has caught seven passes in five of his last six games without dropping below 70 receiving yards. He ranks fifth in the NFL in receptions and his team’s versatile running back group makes up for the lack of talent out wide. Pittsburgh has given up the least points and passing yards in the NFL but I think Washington’s two-back sets will keep the Steelers guessing on defense. Ben Roethlisberger has been getting rid of the ball early all year and Washington’s tenacious pass rush won’t give him the time to make big plays down the field. Pittsburgh should definitely win this game but Washington has a good chance to make this competitive.
