Tuesday PM update: Rams coach Sean McVay tells reporters that he expects Cam Akers to be available to play Thursday against the Patriots, per Lindsey Thiry.

Tuesday update: Akers was able to get in a limited practice with his shoulder injury on Tuesday, per Jourdan Rodrigue. This is good news for his availability for Thursday, but a full practice on Wednesday would be good to see. If he is hampered at all by the shoulder, Darrell Henderson would likely step up again with a bigger workload.

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers didn’t practice on Monday with a shoulder injury, per Andrew Callahan. The practice was a walkthrough, Akers’ participation was estimated, but it is still concerning as the team tries to turnaround for a Thursday night game against the Patriots.

Akers is coming off his best two games of the season with back-to-back touchdowns and last week against the Cardinals saw his biggest usage. On the day he carried the ball 21 times for 72 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for one yard. The efficiency wasn’t good, as he averaged under four-yards per carry, but the usage was great.

Akers overtook Darrell Henderson for the lead job, but Henderson put up strong numbers on his five touches, with 74 yards and a touchdown of his own. If Akers can’t play on Thursday, Henderson would take the lead role once again.
