Final injury report
Christian McCaffrey did not practice on Friday and is doubtful to play the Broncos. Mike Davis will get the start.
Josh Jacobs is listed as questionable to play against the Colts, but reports suggest he will suit up this week.
D’Andre Swift is questionable, but did practice in full. He appears to be on track to play the Packers.
Antonio Gibson is out with turf toe. Peyton Barber and J.D. McKissic will divvy up the running back snaps.
David Johnson was put on the Covid-19 list and will not play this week against the Bears. Duke Johnson will get the start.
Salvon Ahmed is out again while Myles Gaskin was taken off the injury report and will get the start against the Chiefs.
Out: Salvon Ahmed (shoulder), Alexander Mattison (illness), Antonio Gibson (toe)
Doubtful: Christian McCaffrey (shoulder), Travis Homer (knee)
Questionable: Frank Gore (concussion), Kenyan Drake (ankle), D’Andre Swift (illness), Josh Jacobs (ankle), Ezekiel Elliott (calf)
Thursday injury report
Christian McCaffrey didn’t practice Thursday and is unlikely to play according to Matt Rhule. Mike Davis will get the main work against Denver.
Josh Jacobs got in a limited practice Thursday. It’s a good sign for his availability against the Colts, but he could still be a game-time decision.
D’Andre Swift has gotten in limited practices in the last two days. It would be nice to see a full practice from him on Friday before he faces a weak Packers run defense.
Kenyan Drake has a new hip injury that limited him on Thursday. Friday’s practice will be an important one for him before they face the Giants.
DNP: Salvon Ahmed (shoulder), Antonio Gibson (toe)
Limited: Todd Gurley (knee), Ito Smith (neck), Ezekiel Elliott (calf), Christian McCaffrey (shoulder, thigh), D’Andre Swift (illness), James Robinson (knee), Chris Carson (foot), Josh Jacobs (ankle), Kenyan Drake (limited)
Full: Phillip Lindsay (knee), Kerryon Johnson (knee), Devontae Booker (back), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness)
Wednesday injury report
Christian McCaffrey was limited with a thigh injury. This is a new injury, so he’ll likely need to get a full practice in before being cleared to play this week.
Salvon Ahmed was unable to practice while Myles Gaskin was limited. Gaskin should be on track to lead the way against the Chiefs this week.
Josh Jacobs was unable to practice and appears set to miss another week with his ankle injury. Devontae Booker would again be the lead back if Jacobs can’t go.
D’Andre Swift was limited to start the week, but that is a good sign as he is recovering from an illness. If all goes well he should be set to return this week against the Packers.
Antonio Gibson didn’t practice and is looking doubtful to play with a turf toe injury. J.D McKissic and Peyton Barber will get a boost in work against the 49ers.
DNP: Salvon Ahmed (shoulder), Antonio Gibson (toe), Josh Jacobs (ankle)
Limited: Todd Gurley (knee), Ito Smith (neck), Christian McCaffrey (shoulder, thigh), Frank Gore (concussion), Kerryon Johnson (knee), D’Andre Swift (illness), Ezekiel Elliott (calf), Myles Gaskin (knee)
Full: Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness), Darrynton Evans (hamstring), Cam Akers (shoulder)
Week 14 brought us one of the signs of the apocalypse as David Montgomery led the week in PPR fantasy points for running backs. Montgomery continues to be fairly average, but his usage in the receiving game along with goal line carries gives him enough opportunities to get you points.
Rookie running backs Cam Akers and Jonathan Taylor both had strong games and Akers saw the bulk of the work. Unfortunately, we still can’t be 100 percent sure either will be the lead backs for the rest of the season.
Antonio Gibson has a toe injury that ruled him out quickly against the Steelers on Monday. We’ll need to hear more, but initially it appears like he’ll have a tough time playing this week.
Christian McCaffrey is expected to return this week against the Broncos.
Josh Jacobs appears unlikely to play this week against the Colts. Devontae Booker would be the lead back if he can’t go.
James Conner is expected back from the Covid-19 list this week.
There are no teams on bye in Week 14.
Giovani Bernard, Bengals
With Brandon Allen taking over for the injured Joe Burrow, Bernard’s upside has been capped. But, a matchup with the Cowboys is good enough to give him a chance to be a good PPR play with Allen checking down often.
Myles Gaskin, Dolphins
The Chiefs are poor against the run and will likely get the Dolphins into pass-first mode sooner than later. That should help Gaskin see plenty of work in the passing game. Despite his poor efficiency, a catch, no matter the yardage, is one fantasy point in PPR and I expect a good floor for him this week.
