Thursday update: Boswell returned to practice on Thursday and got in a full session. he would seem to be on track for a Week 14 return.
Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell missed Week 13 due to a hip injury, and has not gotten off to a good start in Week 14. The team listed him as a DNP on Wednesday. The Steelers played on Monday, and it is unclear how much things have changed for Boswell in the 48 hours since.
The Steelers signed Matthew Wright to their practice squad last week and promoted him to the active roster prior to Monday’s game once it became clear Boswell would not be able to go. Wright converted his one 37-yard field goal attempt and two extra points in the 23-17 loss to Pittsburgh.
Boswell has not had a great season, but has quietly chugged along as the 13th ranked kicker this season. The Steelers offense has been solid if a bit up-and-down, but a strong defense creates scoring opportunities. Pittsburgh is traveling to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 14.
