Deebo Samuel will miss practice Wednesday for Week 14

The 49ers will be without Deebo Samuel at practice on Wednesday, but there is optimism he will play.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel has a foot contusion that will keep him out of practice on Wednesday, per ESPN’s Nick Wagoner. Samuel missed practice last week on Wednesday as well, but for his hamstring. Coach Kyle Shanahan did say he thought Samuel would have practiced today if they had played Sunday instead of Monday.

Thursday’s practice will still be an important one for Samuel to see where he is as the team readies to host The Washington Football team in Arizona. The odds look in his favor to play though.

The 49ers will once again play in Arizona, taking over the Cardinals stadium on Sunday where they lost to the Bills on Monday night. Samuel didn’t get quite as much usage as he did the previous week, as Brandon Aiyuk had returned from the Covid-19 list. But, he still saw nine targets, catching six for 73 yards. His ability as a runner should continue to give him good opportunities after the catch and as long as his foot doesn’t hamper him, he will remain a good fantasy start.
