Friday update: Evans appears good to go for this week against the Vikings. His hamstring injury was more of a “scare” than anything according to coach Bruce Arians, per Sara Walsh.
Thursday update: Evans did not practice on Thursday, per Greg Auman. Auman does say that his absence “could just be precautionary,” as he has been given rest days in the past, but Friday’s practice will be important. With Chris Godwin getting in a full practice today, he and Antonio Brown would get a bump in work if Evans can’t go against the Vikings.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was listed as limited for Wednesday’s practice, perThe Athletic’s Greg Auman. The Buccaneers had a bye last week, so it is somewhat concerning that Evans wasn’t able to get a full practice to start the week.
Evans played a full game in Week 12 against the Chiefs, catching two touchdowns and seeing nine targets. It seems likely he will be able to go this week against the Vikings, but his hamstring is something to be aware of this week.
The Vikings make for a good matchup, having allowed the fourth-most PPR points to wide receivers on the season. This matchup also has a good 51.5 over-under, which should allow for plenty of fantasy points.
On the season, Evans has been somewhat inconsistent, but his touchdown numbers have helped prop him up when not getting much yardage. On the year, he’s caught 48 passes for 613 yards and 11 touchdowns.
