Who the oddsmakers like in Super Bowl 54

We take a look at who 17 oddsmakers like in the Super Bowl.

We’ve heard what former players, nearly 200 media, writer’s and your aunt Ida believe will happen in the Super Bowl, but what about those who set the lines, the oddsmakers, think. Bet Indiana News reached out to seventeen oddsmakers for their predictions of the big game.

To save you the suspense, five picked the Chiefs to win and 12 picked the 49ers, with the majority going with the under. Most cited the 49ers defense and run game as the deciding factor while also admitting that Patrick Mahomes is a wild card that could end up playing out of his mind to beat the better overall team.

Their outlook appears to coincide with many analysts, even those who favor the Chiefs on Sunday. The 49ers are the better all-around team but the Chiefs have the best player in the most important position. Some take the 49ers with that information and some take the 49ers.

Of course, many of these oddsmakers also admitted to leaning toward an outcome that would be more beneficial to their sportsbooks, as the bulk of the wagers have gone for Kansas City and the over. So far, DraftKings Sportsbook has taken in 78 percent of the handle on the over and and 72 percent on the Chiefs to cover. The 49ers and the under would be the preference of all your gambling establishments across the world.

So, we can likely take their predictions with a grain of salt, but also remember, the oddsmakers aren’t setting odds at where they believe the game will finish, instead, they set them so they can get an even handle on both sides so they can keep building sportsbooks.
