Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns won’t be playing against the Charlotte Hornets Wednesday. The team announced that the big man’s Tuesday MRI revealed a wrist injury that will keep him out of the contest.

Towns missed a significant period of time between mid-December and mid-January dealing with a knee injury and illness. Now he’ll find himself watching from the bench again, shortly after his team acquired D’Angelo Russell from the Golden State Warriors. Naz Reid appears to be the player most likely to fill in for Towns in the starting lineup.
