New York Guardians at DC Defenders injury report

The DC Defenders host the New York Guardians on Saturday in a Week 2 matchup of 1-0 teams. DC was in a back-and-forth affair with Seattle last week before pulling away in the fourth quarter thanks to a big defensive stop and Cardale Jones. New York upset favored Tampa Bay in a big way, holding them to the lowest point total in Week 1.

The final injury reports have arrived for both teams, and there are some notable names on both reports either out for the game or making their return this week. For DC, starting wide receiver DeAndre Thompkins is listed as probably after missing last week with a foot injury. It remains to be seen how he’ll connect with Cardale Jones, but it adds a weapon to the quarterback’s arsenal. DC will have to wait on a final status update for linebacker A.J. Tarpley, who is questionable with a hand injury.

New York does not have an extensive injury report, but they have two key injuries. Right guard Garrett Brumfield (head) and center Ian Silberman (thigh) are both listed as questionable. The loss of the center is a particularly big deal given the QB/C exchanges. With a team that’s only been practicing together for six or seven weeks, this will be something to watch on Saturday.
