Who to play between Dan Williams and Kahlil Lewis in the XFL’s Week 2

We break down how to go about playing the Vipers’ Dan Williams and the Roughnecks’ Kahlil Lewis in Week 2 XFL daily fantasy football.

One thing we learned about the XFL in Week 1 is that it’s difficult to project the production of wide receivers. It’s early in the year and no player has reached stardom just yet. Depth charts don’t necessarily help us predict who is a priority in what offense. Last weekend’s games did give us an idea about the hierarchy of the league’s receiving corps though. We break down how Tampa Bay Vipers wide receiver Dan Williams and Houston Roughnecks receiver Kahlil Lewis stack up against one another in Week 2’s DFS contests on DraftKings.

Fantasy football analysis: Vipers WR Dan Williams, Roughnecks WR Kahlil Lewis

Williams was a bright spot in the Vipers’ 23-3 loss to the Guardians. The wideout was listed as a starter in Week 1 but only had a $3,000 price tag in classic formats. However, he had a game high nine targets and hauled in six passes for 123 yards against New York. Williams sits atop the league in receiving yards and appears poised to become a legitimate WR1 while Antonio Callaway is on the IR with a thigh injury.

Lewis got a lot of attention for puking on the field during his XFL debut, but put together a solid outing in his team’s 37-17 blowout win over the Los Angeles Wildcats as well. He caught five of the six balls thrown his way and totaled 45 receiving yards and a score. However, playing alongside Sammie Coates and Cam Phillips means he will likely face more competition than Williams.

DFS Recommendation

Williams is a more appealing play here because of his team’s lack of depth. Lewis still has value, but Houston’s other two starters are just as dangerous.
