The Morning Line: Iowa vs. Minnesota, Indiana vs. Michigan, SDSU vs. Boise St.

The Big Ten takes center stage on Sunday, with an AAC battle

There’s some key matchups in the Big Ten today, but none more key than the No. 21 Iowa Hawkeyes taking on the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Twin Cities. Iowa is coming off a tough loss Thursday night at Indiana, where star shooter CJ Frederick twisted an ankle to add to the damage. He’s listed as doubtful for today, which puts an even bigger emphasis on Luka Garza to continue his Wooden Award campaign: he had 38 points in a brilliant performance in the loss to the Hoosiers.

That same Indiana team looks to keep the momentum going as they head to Ann Arborn and the Michigan Wolverines. IU is still underwater in the conference play at 6-7, and had lost four straight before their big win on Thursday. On the flip side, Michigan has won four of their last five, including a big one over Michigan State last Saturday to get them a sixth Q1 win. They’re safely in the tournament despite also being 6-7 in the B1G because of it, and are playing for seeding going forward.

Also the No. 4 San Diego State Aztecs needs to get through two more road tilts to run the table undefeated, with the first one today against Boise State Broncos. The Aztecs are, incredibly, in the Top 10 nationally in adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency. But Boise is particularly tough at home where they are undefeated this season, and are challenging for the non-SDSU Mountain West Conference championship. SDSU is laying 4.5, but have only won one game by less than that this season: against UNLV three weeks ago.
