Notre Dame beats North Carolina on last second shot for third time in eight days

As brutal a stretch for the North Carolina Tar Heels as anyone can remember, as Notre Dame comes through with 1.8 seconds remaining

Thought the Duke-UNC finish in the Dean Dome was heartbreaking for the North Carolina Tar Heels this year? Well this doesn’t hurt AS bad, but it’s still rather gut-wrenching.

After failing to corral a rebound to ice it in the Joyce Center, check out the perfect pocket pass on the kickout from Rex Pfluger to Nate Laszewski to break the Carolina Blue hearts yet again this brutal 2019-20 season. The final: UND 77, UNC 76.

Congrats to the UNC bettors, as they were catching four and did get the cover (we point you to another team tonight that did not cover with 1.8 seconds left this evening), but how many times can the ‘Heels, the least-gifted team Roy Williams has ever coached by his own admission, be on the wrong end of a barnburner??

It’s the third one in eight days!

First Duke

Then UVA

And tonight, Notre Dame. And we’ll just leave out that 17-point thrashing by Wake Forest last week too.

Need them all as a mashup? Thanks to our friends at NunesMagician.com, we’ve got that too!

Is this merely Karma for some previous improprieties on Franklin Street, or something deeper? But somehow, no blue bloods on Tobacco Road stay down for long. We bet UNC is back with a vengeance soon.

But not this season.
