Preseason odds for NFL teams is a good way to look back to see expectations for the season and start to understand where things went wrong or right. Below, we will take a look at DraftKings Sportsbook’s preseason odds for win totals, division titles, player props and more while we discuss what led to their triumphs or disappointments.

Team Futures

Super Bowl: +6000
AFC South: +375
Win Total Over/Under: 8

The Tennessee Titans made a magical run to the AFC Championship and came one win away from a shocking appearance in the Super Bowl. Like the rest of the AFC South and for the entire conference for that matter, the Titans were aided by Andrew Luck deciding to retire from the Indianapolis Colts right before the season started.

The Titans fell short of their AFC South division title and led the Kansas City Chiefs 17-7 in the second quarter of the conference title game, ultimately finishing their season with a 35-24 loss. Tennessee won its final game of the regular season to hit its over win total, finishing at 9-7.

Player Props

Marcus Mariota passing yards: 3,000.5
Marcus Mariota passing TDs: 17.5
Derrick Henry rushing yards: 1,175.5
Derrick Henry rushing TDs: 10.5

Marcus Mariota was replaced by an unexpectedly efficient Ryan Tannehill in October after Tennessee got off to a 2-4 start, so Mariota fell way short of his passing totals. He finished 1,797.5 yards short of his yardage total and 10.5 passes off his passing touchdowns total.

On the other hand, Derrick Henry shattered his preseason rushing total expectations. He rushed for 1,540 yards and scored 16 touchdowns, both of which led the NFL. Tennessee will have an interesting decision to make on Henry this offseason.
