Everyone is playing the guessing game centered around which San Francisco 49ers wideout can be a game changer against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 54. The receiving corps has been quiet, but it might need to be more productive than it has been in order to keep up with one of the most lethal passing offenses in football. Deebo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders are two of the candidates most likely to have breakout performances.
Samuel leads all 49ers receivers in postseason receptions (5) and receiving yards (88) this year. Sanders ranks fourth in receiving yards (33) among the five San Francisco players who’ve hauled in a pass during the playoffs. Who will step it up for daily fantasy football players?
Fantasy football analysis: 49ers WRs Deebo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders
Samuel leads the team in postseason targets (9) and also has the range to contribute in the running game. The only receiver that seems like a threat to match him in touches is George Kittle. His ability to gain yardage after the catch separates him from his peers.
Sanders only has 10 targets in his last four contests and hasn’t reached double-digits in DKFP since Week 14. However, he is a veteran with big game experience. He led the Denver Broncos in receptions and receiving yards in Super Bowl 50 and was critical to his team’s win against the Carolina Panthers. Sanders has just as many 100-yard games as Samuel this year, but whether he’ll get enough opportunities to thrive is up in the air.
Samuel should be a priority flex play in Showdown ($7,600) while Sanders is a riskier value flex ($5,200) option that just might pan out.
