It’s a big board with a lot of basketball tonight, but we’ve got a bit more information on which way the bettors are leaning tonight, so let’s take a look at which way the wagering community is leaning, and why they might be this afternoon.
All the betting handle numbers are from DraftKings Sportsbook as of 3 p.m. today.
Iowa -2.5 vs. Ohio State: Total 143
It’s pretty clear where the bettors are: 78% of the tickets and 91% of the cash are on the Hawkeyes at home tonight. This is interesting because freshman guard CJ Fredrick is still listed as questionable after missing the last game, and we still don’t have a decision on if he’ll play or not. But it’s possible Wooden Award candidate Luka Garza just might be too much for Ohio State to handle.
Arizona -10.5 vs. Oregon State: Total 138.5
The Wildcats seem too popular with Joe Public as 74% of the tickets but only 60% of the dollars are on Nico Mannion and crew. But they really like the over, as 81% of the bets but only 46% of the cash thinks this game goes over 138.5 points. This might keep moving as well.
Oregon -2 at Arizona State: Total 142.5
It’s an old-school Pac-12 schedule this weekend, with the teams traveling in their traditional pairs for a Thursday-Saturday weekend. And the Ducks are a slight selection with 73% of the tickets and 78% of the dollars behind them on the road. ASU will need this one tonight as they’re squarely on a round bubble, and the sharps will want both teams to score it appears with 30% of the tickets but 81% of the wagered dollars on the over.
Colorado -9.5 vs. USC: Total 136
There’s not a lot of faith in the Buffaloes out there in the business community, as only 23% of the bets but 35% of the handle is on CU. But where this gets interesting is the total: 89% of bets and 85% of action is going over. This is often a spot where you’ll see the sharp money buy back some value late, we’ll see if that happens closer to tip-off tonight.
