There are nine games on the card in the NBA for Friday night. There aren’t many injuries to go over, so that should help us narrow down some bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here we’ll take a look at some favorable lines, odds, players props and spreads for tonight’s action.
Marcus Smart OVER 14.5 points
The Boston Celtics will be without top scorer Kemba Walker. Smart will most likely start and he should see increased minutes and usage. We’ve seen in the past that Smart steps up with Walker or Jaylen Brown sidelined. On the other side, the Timberwolves don’t defend the 3-point line well and overall don’t have a guard who can deal with Smart’s size at the 1 or 2. At 14.5 points we get some value, plus we have tougher lines on Jayson Tatum (24.5 points) and Gordon Hayward (18.5 points). If you’re feeling frisky, Smart is +130 to go OVER 2.5 3-pointers tonight.
Brandon Ingram OVER 2.5 3-Pointers
Sticking with the 3-point narrative, we come to Ingram and the Pelicans vs. the Blazers. This game has an insanely high OVER/UNDER of 238.5. That means we can expect a lot of scoring and chances are most of it will come from the Pelicans side. Ingram is coming off an ankle sprain, but should be 100% after the break. Nobody on the Blazers scares me defensively on Ingram and he’s hit over 2.5 3-pointers in four of the past six games.
I think this game should be closer than people expect and while I’d rather bet the spread at double-digit points (+10.5), we only get -110 juice on that bet. These are long odds for the Grizz to take down the Lakers at Staples Center, but I think Memphis can pull it off. The Grizz need the win more to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race. The Lakers could be coming off a bit of an ASB hangover after LeBron James and Anthony Davis participated in the All-Star festivities. The Grizz need to bounce back after losing Thursday night to the Kings. Gimme Ja Morant and crew on the upset.
Lock of the Night: Pelicans -5 at Trail Blazers
The Blazers are without Damian Lillard and usually when a team is missing its best player, things may not end well. The Pelicans have been a much better team overall with Zion Williamson and now Ingram should be healthy, so that’s basically the full rotation. It’s off the All-Star Break, so travel shouldn’t be much of a factor. I just don’t see Portland really hanging in this one without Dame, plain and simple.
