The DC Defenders are 2-0 and looking to remain undefeated against the winless Los Angeles Wildcats in Week 3 of the XFL. One side has had a consistent starting quarterback since Week 1 while the other might have its third starter in three weeks. That’s played a big part in the success of each team.

This game will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Kickoff will be at 6:00 p.m. ET and the game will be covered on FS1. It will also be available for streaming on the Fox Sports App.

Cardale Jones has been a rock under center for the Defenders and led the XFL in passing yards (511) through the first two weeks of the season. He’s totaled four touchdown passes and one interception with a quarterback rating of 102.0 this year. He’s got a sturdy group of receivers helping him on offense and a defense that’s played like the best in the league so far. Los Angeles has health issues at the quarterback position, and this is one of the last teams you want to face with uncertainty there.

Josh Johnson helped the Wildcats come close to topping the Dallas Renegades in Week 2 by throwing for 196 yards and two scores in his XFL debut. But a lingering thigh injury has him listed as questionable to play in Week 3. Backup quarterback and Week 1 starter Charles Kanoff can’t play because of injuries to his shoulder and head. Jalan McClendon or newly-signed Marcus McDade are candidates to start if Johnson can’t go, and neither has a real body of work in the XFL. On the positive side, Nelson Spruce is a dynamic wideout who leads the league in receptions (17) and receiving yards (192). Whether there’s a signal caller who can get him the ball available will have a big effect on his production this weekend though.

The Defenders are favored by 8.5 points and the over/under for total points is 44. DC will likely win and cover the spread, but the game should still hit the over/under.
