New York Guardians vs St. Louis BattleHawks injury report

St. Louis and New York both are 1-1, but their play on the field has looked worlds apart. The Guardians were able to beat Tampa Bay in Week 1, but the Vipers couldn’t get out of their own way in that matchup and continued to show their ineptitude in Week 2, once again coming up short on converting an offensive touchdown. Then the Guardians were shut out by the Defenders in Week 2. St. Louis, on the other hand, beat Dallas in Dallas in Week 1 and then gave the Roughnecks a run for their money in Houston, losing 28-24.

Now St. Louis will have their home opener in front of a sold out crowd in a city that craves football again. They will have a few injuries to overcome, as all six of the players on their injury report are listed as questionable, including running backs Matt Jones and Keith Ford. Jones and Christine Michael have been splitting snaps while Ford has shown flashes. The Battlehawks want to run the ball, so those injuries could hurt. But, all but wide receiver L’Damian Washington were able to get full practices in on Friday, boosting their chances to play.

The Guardians have center Garrett Brumfield out, which isn’t helpful to a quarterback who has a bad internal clock, but Brumfield hasn’t played much due to his concussion as it is. Defensive back Garrett Dooley, one of the Guardians better defenders, is questionable with an ankle injury and receiver Joe Horn Jr. is questionable with a shoulder injury. These injuries aren’t good, but the rest of the injury report, including running back Darius Victor, are listed as probable after getting full practices in. Victor’s return to the lineup after suffering a head injury should be a boost.
