We’re closing in on the 2020 NBA Playoffs and the picture in each conference is somewhat taking shape. There’s still a lot to be decided, but we know which teams will most likely be contenders come April. In order to get a sense of this, we can look no further than how DraftKings Sportsbook users are betting on the 2020 NBA Championship odds. Below is a table highlighting the teams with the best odds and the percentage of bets and handle to each team, provided by DKSB.

So it’s an interesting breakdown. Right now, the most polarizing team is the Philadelphia 76ers. Many believed the Sixers had enough to go on a run and win it all. Now, that’s not so clear. Ben Simmons is dealing with a back injury that could hold him out an extended period of time and it could be a factor in the playoffs. The Sixers are capable without Simmons — Joel Embiid just dropped 49 points on the Hawks — but does Philly have enough without him? I’m not sure.
To no ones surprise, the Lakers have the highest percentage of handle and bets by a pretty wide margin over Philly. Bettors fully expect LeBron James and Anthony Davis to take over in the postseason and the lackluster regular season from the Clipper so far only adds to that fire. It’s probably nothing, but I’d maybe be concerned about AD’s play down the stretch against the Celtics last Sunday. He looked a bit lost and L.A. will need him to thrive in crunch time in the playoffs against players like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, etc.
