DC installed as underdog for first time following ugly loss

The XFL returns for Week 4, and a surprising result last weekend is shaking things up as DraftKings Sportsbook posts odds for this weekend’s contests.

The DC Defenders entered Week 3 unbeaten and looking like one of the two best teams in the league. They exited Week 3 badly beaten by the Los Angeles Wildcats in Josh Johnson’s second game as their starting quarterback. Johnson completed 18 of 25 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns, while Cardale Jones threw four interceptions in his first loss as a starting QB since high school!

DC travels to face the Tampa Bay Vipers in Week 4, and in a surprising development, DC has opened at DraftKings as a one-point underdog. The Vipers improved in Week 3, but still lost their third straight game. It seems a good bet that line will see some movement from DC backers given how well they played the first two weeks of the season.

The biggest line of the weekend has the St. Louis BattleHawks installed as 12-point favorites. St. Louis has climbed from preseason dogs to XFL East division leaders heading into Week 4. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has impressed and the defense has stepped up in a big way, and the BattleHawks are looking like one of the better teams in the league.
