Best lineup strategy for Warriors vs. Lakers NBA Showdown

Who will step up for the Lakers with LeBron out? We break down Thursday’s Showdown contest on DraftKings.

This is not quite the star studded affair we thought we would get in the preseason. Not only is Steph Curry still out for the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers ruled out LeBron James ahead of this game because of a groin injury.

Who should I use in the Captain’s spot?

Anthony Davis ($18,000)

With LeBron sitting tonight, AD is going to have to carry the Lakers’ offense and he draws a nice matchup. The Warriors are 24th in the league in defensive efficiency. With James off the court, Davis leads the Lakers with a 34.2% usage rating and scores 58.77 DKFP. He’s in line to have a monster night and is kind of the default option for the captain spot since there is a decent amount of value in this game and AD is the only expensive player in the contest.

Who should I stack?

Rajon Rondo ($4,000)

In previous games without LeBron, we have seen Rondo move into the starting lineup and start at point guard. It’s a role he’s crushed in. As a starter, Rondo is averaging 39.25 DKFP and has scored as many as 51 DKFP. He scores about a fantasy point per minute, figures to play 30+ minutes and has a cheap salary.

Where can I find value?

Markieff Morris ($2,200)

Morris is playing in just his second game with the Lakers. In his first game with his new team, he only played 15 minutes, but there is reason to think he gets more run tonight. Morris figures to be one of the first players off the bench since James is out and he could be allowed to play more minutes since he has a game under his belt with his new team. In a game the Lakers figure to win against the Warriors, this is a great chance to give Morris extended run to get him more comfortable with his new team.

Who should I fade?

Marquese Chriss ($8,400)

Chriss has played well recently although his role might take a step back since Draymond Green is expected to return from a pelvic injury tonight. There is also reason to be concerned about the health of Chriss. Last game, he came back from a calf injury and left the game late with an injury. He ended up playing just 25 minutes and isn’t on the injury report tonight, but Golden State could still be cautious and play Chriss less than his normal minutes.
