Carton will not be playing in this game as he continues to address a personal situation. The freshman guard took a leave of absence in late January to deal with his mental health. He returned to campus last week Friday and will go through extensive medical protocols before rejoining the team. In 20 games this season, Carton is averaging 10.4 points, three assists and 2.8 rebounds. He’s also shooting 40% from the three-point line.
Young is a big question mark for Thursday night’s matchup, and his status will be determined during the afternoon shoot-around. The junior forward suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s win against Maryland. He is averaging 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds over 25 games. He missed two games due to an appendectomy earlier this season.
Ohio State is coming into Thursday as 9.5-point favorites and is 6-2 against the spread in its last eight games. Nebraska is looking to snap a 12-game losing streak for its third conference victory this season.
