The best time of the college basketball season is here with March Madness just around the corner. There are 32 conference tournaments determining nearly half the field for the 2020 NCAA Tournament, and the first of them get started on March 3rd.
Each league sets its own rules such as who gets invited, who gets a bye and where the games are played, but they all end in one certainty: the winner of the conference championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, and have a chance to participate in the three-week celebration of college basketball that makes the game so special.
While some teams such as Baylor, Gonzaga, and San Diego State won’t need to win anything ensure safe passage to the brackets, they will want to win as many games as possible to make their path to the Final Four in Atlanta as smooth as possible via the best seeding. But for the majority of conference tournament participants, it’s a chance to win their way to one of the best events in American sports. Because if you’re in a conference tournament, someone has to beat you to end your season. Win... or go home.
We will be breaking down what you need to know for the 2020 conference tournaments, including full schedule, favorites, sleepers, and dark horses, and how the tournaments shake out over the next three weeks. For now, here is the complete schedule for all 2020 NCAA men’s basketball conference tournaments.
