The XFL is back for Week 4! We’re seeing some separation at the top and bottom of the league, but there are quite a few teams that are settling in the middle. The Houston Roughnecks are the best team in the league right now while the Tampa Bay Vipers are the only winless team. In between, we’ve got two tiers of teams.
The St. Louis BattleHawks, DC Defenders, Dallas Renegades, and Los Angeles Wildcats are in one tier. St. Louis is rolling, while Dallas and DC are improving with changes at the quarterback position back in Week 2. On the other end, the New York Guardians and Seattle Dragons appear to be closer to Tampa Bay at the bottom than those four teams in the middle.
Week 4 brings some key matchups for sorting through the standings. Dallas hosts Houston, presenting the biggest challenge the Roughnecks have faced to date, and providing the Renegades with their strongest test since Landry Jones took over as starter. Meanwhile, LA travels to face a bad New York squad, with Josh Johnson looking to put together a second straight strong performance for the Wildcats. Elsewhere, St. Louis will look to win a game they are expected to run away with, and DC looks to rebound at Tampa Bay.
The XFL will once again be featuring four nationally televised games, with two of them on broadcast network stations, and two on cable. The weekend opens with New York hosting Los Angeles at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, airing on ABC. St. Louis hosts Seattle at 5:00 p.m. that evening on FOX. On Sunday, FS1 will air Houston vs. Dallas at 4:00 p.m., and ESPN2 will air DC vs. Tampa Bay at 7:00 p.m.
The league is leaning heavily into the gambling space, and has announced DraftKings SportsBook as a sports betting partner. DK is also a daily fantasy football partner with the league, so we’ll be providing updates through the weekend to get you ready for Week 3 XFL action.
