The XFL’s first game of Week 4 will be between the Los Angeles Wildcats and New York Guardians. Los Angeles is fresh off its first win of the season, as it blew out the DC Defenders 39-9 in Week 3. New York, on the other hand, has been trounced in back-to-back games and lost its starting quarterback to a rib injury.

This matchup will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It will be broadcast on ABC and available for streaming via the ESPN Sports App.

Josh Johnson had one of the better performances we’ve seen this year in Week 3, as he went 18-of-25 for 278 yards and three scores in a win. He was dealing with a thigh injury that’s affected him since before Week 1, but that didn’t seem to hinder him too much. The Wildcats’ star receiver Nelson Spruce did suffer a knee injury during the contest though, and he won’t be able to play against the Guardians. But the emergence of wideout Tre McBride could keep Los Angeles’ offense going strong. The defense picked off Cardale Jones four times and recorded three sacks. That’s not a good sign for New York, as it is about to make a major change under center.

The Guardians’ Matt McGloin had a solid first half in Week 3 but wasn’t able to play in the second half because of a rib injury. New York subbed in Marquise Williams, but he had little success. Luis Perez was option number three and completed 4-of-5 passes for 39 yards and New York’s lone score of the game. It’s unclear who will start against the Wildcats, but there appears to be an active competition. If the QB can’t get the ball to Mekale McKay, New York’s offense will be extremely limited.

Los Angeles is favored by 7.5 points and the over/under a low 39.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook. New York isn’t expected to score much, but the Wildcats could carry the load to hit the over.
