UPDATE: Feb. 3, 12:38 p.m. — The Warriors and T-Wolves are engaged in talks surround Russell, per The Athletic. But the more interesting team that is now involved is the New York Knicks. Yes, the Knicks are trying to spark a deal for Russell, seemingly opting to not to sell at the deadline. This would be more of a long-term move to add another big name to try and lure free agents this upcoming offseason.
The Golden State Warriors are “listening to pitches” on potential trades for G D’Angelo Russell, Marc Stein of The New York Times reported early Monday.
Many thought the Warriors would wait until draft time to seriously ponder moving D'Angelo Russell, but sources say they are listening to pitches -- with no secret Minnesota wants D-Lo badly. Golden State is widely expected to trade Alec Burks and/or Glenn Robinson III this week

The Warriors were always viewed as a long shot to ship out Russell before the end of the season. It makes some sense for the Dubs to see where they land in the draft, potentially using their lottery pick in 2020 as a package with Russell to add a top10-15 player to Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson for another title push in 2020-21. Now, it’s looking like there’s a chance Russell will be moved prior to Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET if the right deal comes around. Would that deal be with the Timberwolves and include Andrew Wiggins? I still view that as a stretch. The T-Wolves are the only rumored team interested, so we don’t know who else might jump into the fray. Stay tuned.
