The Pick: Wichita St. -5

The Shockers under head coach Gregg Marshall have committed to two things: having impact upperclassmen, and defense. They swarm and attack and can play as a single-celled organism when in slide position, and it shows with their being tenth in eFG% defense in the country.

What Wichita does well is turn people over: they force 22.2 per 100 possessions, whereas UC coughs it up 20.5 times per 100. Look for the Bearcats to just not get up enough shots to stay within five on the road.

The Shockers play terrific team basketball, with Erik Stephenson, Jamarius Burton, and Grant Sherfield leading a balanced offense. UC leans heavily on Jarron Cumberland, and probably a bit too heavily for a win in the one of the toughest buildings in the AAC.
