We’re past the NBA Trade Deadline for the 2019-20 season and now we can look to the All-Star Break. After that, it’ll be the trek to the NBA Postseason and who will take home a championship title. Now that the deadline is over and the dust has settled on the numerous trades made, we can take a look at updated Championship odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here’s an updated table of odds pre- and post-deadline:
Post-NBA Trade Deadline Championship Odds Movement
Team | Pre Trade Deadline (2/4) | Current Odds |
---|---|---|
Team | Pre Trade Deadline (2/4) | Current Odds |
LA Lakers | 300 | 275 |
MIL Bucks | 320 | 300 |
MIA Heat | 3000 | 2000 |
TOR Raptors | 3000 | 2500 |
WSH Wizards | 50000 | 25000 |
PHI 76ers | 1200 | 1400 |
HOU Rockets | 1500 | 1600 |
DAL Mavericks | 3000 | 3300 |
IND Pacers | 6000 | 6600 |
The most notable takeaway from this table is that the Clippers odds went down slightly from +300 to win to +333 after adding Marcus Morris. Perhaps the books don’t think it was a big enough boost and the Clippers depth was set as is. It is worth noting that Morris didn’t go to the Lakers and I’d imagine their odds would get better had they landed the veteran forward from the Knicks.
The Rockets added Robert Covington and traded away Clint Capela and DKSB views that as a negative overall. It’s still to be seen if that plan of going extreme small ball works out for Mike D’Antoni. The Sixers adding two shooters didn’t help their stock as much either. Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III should make an impact from the outside. I’d view both Houston and Philly as decent darkhorse bets at this point.
