It’s a very short list of college basketball games tonight, but there’s two key matchups that should have an impact on bracketology.
Maryland heads to Illinois in just another night on the circuit in the brutally-tough Big Ten this year, but this one will determine sole possession of first place in the league. The Terps have won five in a row to get to 8-3 in the B1G behind superstar guard Anthony Cowan, the same league mark as an Illinois is coming off a tough loss at Iowa. Right now Maryland is getting three points despite the better ranking, and Ayo Dosunmu and the Illini should be a tough test for the travelers.
Right now the bettors are heavily favoring the home team: 76% of the handle and 93% of the cash is on Illinois at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Also tonight the Harvard Crimson head to eternal rival Yale at 5 p.m. in a big battle for Ivy League supremacy. Yale is 4-0 and tied with Princeton atop America’s oldest athletics conference, and are hanging around near the bubble at 50 in the NET and 46 in Ken Pom for now. But the issue is they won’t get any more opportunities for quality wins with the rest of the conference at least in triple digits by all rankings. The Bulldogs two-point loss at Penn State in November really hurts now.
Here are the college basketball lines as of 8:00 a.m. from DraftKings Sportsbook.
