The XFL is back, and eight teams will take the field this weekend for its first set of official games since the 2001 season. Games will be available for streaming and on major networks.
The first two games will take place on Saturday, and there will also be a duo of games on Sunday to round out the action. The final game of Week 1 will be between the St. Louis BattleHawks and Dallas Renegades at 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. If you can’t make it to a TV or don’t have cable, you have the option to stream on the ESPN Sports App.
The BattleHawks will be coached by Jonathan Hayes, who last spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals as a tight ends coach. He should be challenged in his first crack at the XFL, as he’ll take on a Renegades team that’s favored (+350) to win the championship. Dallas has former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops at the helm and is expected to have one of the XFL’s most dynamic passing offenses.
St. Louis has the second worst odds (+1000) to win the title on DraftKings SportsBook and is a 7.5-point underdog to kick off the year. However, quarterback Landry Jones (knee) has been limited in practice this week and is questionable to play in the contest. Jones is one of the XFL’s premier players, and whether he plays will have a big impact on the outcome of this game.
