The Oscars honor the best in cinema, and the cinematic genius of five tremendous films are nominated for Best Director at the 2020 Academy Awards. On Sunday, February 9th, those behind the camera will be celebrated as those in front live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
The biggest prize available is for Best Picture, and the World War II epic 1917 is the favorite. Sam Mendes’ film about a man caught between the war and his family, but there are always surprises on Oscar Night. There’s been a late surge for Parasite by South Korean director Bong Joon-Ho, and the odds have been moving towards the subtitled film that is a lock to win Best Foreign Film; right now you have to bet $100 to win $1 on Parasite in that category.
And don’t count out Quentin Taratino’s spin on Hollywood of the late 60’s and the Manson Family murders, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. It’s not getting buzz, but Tinseltown isn’t afraid to laud itself during awards season.
Below are the updated odds, as well as how much action is bet on each film, from DraftKings Sportsbook.
